Maritime Aquarium Club

Post by Kribber on Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:55 pm

Welcome to the maritime aquarium club (MAC). Our club is open to all aquarium enthusiasts in the New Brunswick area. We try to present a program that meets the needs and interests of the members. We plan on a variety of activities such as slide presentations, video presentations and speakers from academic institutions. We may hold mini auction, swap meets at the end. We are a new club so we learn as we go; we also plan on arranging tours of aquatic facilities, both here in the maritime area and in other places as well.

Club meetings are usually held on Sundays once a month starting at 3pm. For more information please check our website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for club information and full event details.
If you own an aquarium with fresh water or salt water and want to learn the best way to upkeep your aquarium or just want to meet people with the same passion for aquariums as you then you are welcome to join us and we will do our best to make the aquarium experience a fun activity for the whole family.

I agree with both of you, it will be nice to meet others on a montly basis, lots of sharing and ideals that will flow i'm sure. We have the meetings at the school I work and we have 3 tanks there so the club will help the school with the tanks if needed as well, so lots to do..:-) plus once the snow melts we have a water feature outside that host koi's...:-)

Very cool. I love the idea you help set up tanks at schools to get the kids interested in the hobby. I once sent you a new heater to help you continue that work. The school my kids go to have a small tank in the hallway. I am going to take over a bunch or guppies ( since I have way to many now) and put them in there tank. Alos going to give some to a friend up the street that needs more fish for their kids tank. :)

Nice, that all sounds great! Fish n' Fry use to keep care of tank at the elementary school in our old neighborhood. I have given her fish numerous times over the years for that tank. Love the idea of a tank in classrooms.

Life is way too short for anything else!
It helps when everyone goal is the same. A safe, fun drama free community. Fish keeping is suppose to be relaxing hobby. Here's to keeping it that way here and with your club.  hug

Congratulations on the new club!

Can I make a humble suggestion? Change your name to reflect the area or your province. I've noticed a trend in Atlantic Canada of everyone naming their club to encompass every province, etc. Identify with the area or province... makes total sense.

I see Ken was down at your meeting last week. He's a member of our club here in Windsor, ON as well. Incidentally, I'll be seeing him this Sunday as he's speaking at our monthly meeting.

All the best with the new club!!

Allie... LOL. At least Wayne had a bit of sense to label us Nova Scotia and not Atlantic Canada, East Coast, etc. When we were deciding on the name for ECAS I was against the name being non-geographic specific.
